On March 15, 2023, the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research and the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Arab Republic of Egypt attended an expert round table jointly with the Egyptian Council on Foreign Relations.
There was a thorough exchange of views on relevant issues on the international agenda, as well as the assessments set out in Vladimir Makei's article "The Liberal International Order: can it be saved in today's non-hegemonic world?", written shortly before his untimely death in 2022.
The high-level Egyptian experts who took part in the event touched upon the issues of transformation of the modern world order and noted the prospects of Belarusian-Egyptian cooperation in various fields.
BISR analysts made reports on current trends in regionalization, transformation of the concept of "national interests" in modern conditions and rising trends in the field of international information security.
The participants of the meeting confirmed the important role of scientific and expert interaction in modern conditions. Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on further contacts on the track of expert diplomacy.
