BISR analysts Valentin Starichenok and Igor Valakhanovich are taking part in the Union State forum "Russia and Belarus: common history, common destiny", which takes place at the site of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
The event was organized by the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Center for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Historical Memory Foundation (Russia) with the support of the Standing Committee of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.
Within two days, leading historians of Belarus and Russia will make presentations and reports inside three thematic sections: "Key areas of Russia-Belarus cooperation in preserving historical memory and countering the falsification of history"; "Formation of spiritual and moral values in the process of educating a new generation: topical issues of historical education"; "Nazi Genocide in the territories of Belarus and Russia. Historical and legal assessments and approaches".
The Forum program also provides for a round table "The Union State of Russia and Belarus: History and Modernity", presentation of books and collections of documents published by Russian and Belarusian historians and archivists, discussion and adoption of the final resolution of the Belarusian-Russian forum.
