This was stated today by Director of the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Studies Oleg Makarov as he spoke to journalists before the meeting of the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences Vladimir Gusakov with BISR analysts.
–The cooperation between the Institute of Strategic Research and the National Academy of Sciences is that we are committed to studying trends that are impossible in the modern world without studying innovations, – he said. –And innovation is impossible without science. Since the Academy of Sciences is an advanced organization that moves our country forward, we cannot ignore it. We are very interested in developments and research outcomes in all areas. Besides, we are interacting with a number of institutes – of history, sociology, philosophy. This is a long-term productive cooperation, certain results of which can already be summed up, and also we can plan for the future. This is what our meeting is about.
Oleg Makarov assessed the state of Belarusian science as follows:
– Belarus is an intellectual country that has the strongest scientific capacity. Belarus mentally tends to acquire knowledge and develop science. Not without reason that we have so many compatriots who have made numerous scientific discoveries in various fields, both in our country and abroad. Science is what we have. We need to move forward. We need scientific breakthroughs.
Speaking about joint projects with the Academy of Sciences, Oleg Makarov noted that BISR expects cooperation in terms of orders, as well as the use of already available results of certain NAS studies.
