BISR analyst Sergey Tomashov assessed Belarus’s decision regarding Polish and Lithuanian trucks parked on its territory as soft, logical, and well-considered—consistent with the principles of good neighbourliness and taking into account the interests of populations on both sides.
In the absence of official dialogue with Poland and Lithuania, this step creates a direct channel of interaction with citizens and the business community, highlighting the importance of stable diplomatic ties amid regional tensions.
The refusal to engage in dialogue was described as a sign of political immaturity, whereas Belarus demonstrates openness to cooperation and the search for compromises.
