Victory in the Great Patriotic War is one of the most significant events in world history. May 9 will forever remain a symbol of the heroism and courage of a people who defended their freedom and independence.
Every family has stories of relatives who fought in the war, and it is from their memories that the broader picture of our Motherland’s liberation takes shape. To inscribe the stories of those whose every step brought our people’s victory closer into the chronicle of the Great Patriotic War is the duty of everyone who cares about their country. The Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies joins the national campaign “Belarus Remembers.” We are publishing family stories from our analysts about the fates of their loved ones who lived through the Great Patriotic War (We Remember – Belarus Remembers!).
We invite other colleagues—experts, analysts, intellectuals, journalists—and all those who cherish the history of their families and their Motherland to join this relay of remembrance.
