It is important to form a strong national immunity based on ancestral values

The indispensable soil of any "color revolution", wherever it takes place, is pseudo-values and pseudo-history as a medium for the maturation of the deceived generation and the subsequent intergenerational conflict. Therefore, it is important to form a strong national immunity based on ancestral values, historical truth, and active citizenship of young people. This opinion was expressed by Vitaly Punchenko, Deputy Director of the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research, during presentation of the third edition of the book "The Aftertaste of Color Revolutions P.S." held at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In the course of the presentation of book, the authors of the materials of which were political analysts, scientists and publicists from more than 20 countries, including BISR analysts, Vitaly Punchenko noted:

–The indispensable soil of any "color revolution", wherever it takes place, is pseudo-values and pseudo-history as a medium for the maturation of the deceived generation and the subsequent intergenerational conflict. Therefore, it is important to form a strong national immunity based on ancestral values, historical truth, and active citizenship of young people. It is necessary to create conditions for constructive activity of young people – first social, then political, to listen to young people, to involve them in future projects.

The book is not by chance called "The Aftertaste of Color Revolutions", the BISR Deputy Director drew attention of managers, teachers and students of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs:

– An aftertaste, unlike a taste, is, as a rule, something intrusive and unpleasant, which seems to be nearby, but it is hard to identify where exactly. The "color revolutions" are like a virus or a parasite. It can live in the body for a long time and not manifest itself until a certain time. But as soon as conditions develop, it turns into an avalanche that is difficult to constrain. Therefore, it is important to understand the specifics of these conditions, in other words, the formula of "color revolutions", both universal and specific for a particular country and culture.

According to Vitaly Punchenko, the presented book cumulatively gives an idea of this formula:

– In short, it can be stated in three theses. First. The soil for the "color revolution" is pseudo-values and pseudo-history as a medium for the maturation of the deceived generation. Second. The external factor is the presence of specific stakeholders (countries, special services, corporations, foundations, specific individuals) and technologies: information, political, socio–humanitarian. Third. The internal factor is the discrepancy between the expectations of society and the real state of affairs. This is especially true of such phenomena as stagnation in development, accumulated economic problems and social grievances.

According to the Deputy director of the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research, none of these components should be underestimated, as well as overestimated:

– Any external influence is doomed to failure if there is no basis for a "color revolution" inside the country. Accordingly, it is possible to derive a counteraction formula. First, national immunity, – education of the younger generation based on the ancestral national values, honoring historical truth. Second, knowing the enemy and its methods, modeling the evolution of technologies, contrasting them with own narratives, primarily when working on the internal field. And third, the balance of interests of the individual, society and the state. Knowing the society we live in, its perception as a faithful and effective subject that needs not only protection, but also incentives for development.

The book “The Aftertaste of Colored Revolutions P.S.” is based on a newspaper project implemented on the pages of “SB. Belarus Today”, the first issue of which was published on December 11, 2021. Dozens of leading political scientists, analysts and publicists from more than 20 countries presented their vision of the "color revolution" phenomenon, which had deeply embedded in the world politics and destroyed the previous picture of the world. What is it like? What can be the antidote and why has this phenomenon, honed in various states, turned out to be untenable in Belarus? The answers to these questions were given by the newspaper project "The Aftertaste of Color Revolutions", which eventually turned into a full-fledged and much needed by the modern society book, recognized by the "Belarus" Publishing House as the bestseller of the year 2023. Currently, the book content is available on a special website launched by the "Belarus Today" Publishing House.
