On September 26, 2024, BISR Director Oleg Makarov took part in the international conference of CIS analytical centers "A new agenda for long-term cooperation", held in Tashkent with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The event was organized in order to jointly assess the current state of cooperation, the unrealized potential and capabilities of the CIS countries in the new conditions, and develop proposals for the long-term agenda of the Commonwealth for the development of interstate relations.
The conference brought together the heads and experts of the leading analytical and research centers of the Commonwealth Member States, representatives of the diplomatic corps in Tashkent.
The event agenda covered the development of practical cooperation between the CIS states in the current international situation, the development of proposals and recommendations on promising areas of development of the Commonwealth as a space of dialogue, mutually beneficial cooperation and progressive development.
On the sidelines of the conference, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the BISR and the Center for Foreign Policy Studies and International Initiatives under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
