On the nuclear doctrine of the Russian Federation: Minsk has no doubt about Russia's readiness to "lend a shoulder"

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday proposed to discuss the issue of updating the foundations of state policy in the field of nuclear deterrence.

Putin said that Russia reserves the right to use nuclear weapons in case of aggression, including if the enemy, using conventional weapons, poses a critical threat to sovereignty. Also, according to him, the Russian Federation reserves the right to use nuclear weapons in case of aggression against Belarus. Equivalent protection for Belarus in the Russian nuclear doctrine will be established for the "delight" of Poland and the "numerous pygmies of NATO," Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, said later in this regard.

At the same time, Putin has previously stated that Moscow is not rattling around nuclear weapons. He noted that Russia has a nuclear doctrine, which says that the use of nuclear weapons is possible in exceptional cases, such a case has not occurred.

The Republic of Belarus has been and remains probably the most devoted friend and reliable ally of the Russian Federation. We have never had any doubt that Russia is always ready to lend a shoulder to Belarus in the most difficult and desperate situations. The adjustment of Russia's nuclear doctrine suggests that the interests of protecting the Union State are a priority for the leadership of Russia and Belarus.

In today's difficult situation, when there is constant escalation on the western borders of the Union State, a hybrid war is being waged on the southern borders, in particular, on the territory of Ukraine, the question remains very important how to prevent the entire world community from sliding into a third world war, the nuclear war.

With his statement and decision, Vladimir Putin once again showed the world community that the Russian Federation, together with the Republic of Belarus, is determined and ready to defend the sovereignty and independence of both Russia and Belarus and the entire Union State as a whole.

No one is allowed to dictate terms to our independent states. In my opinion, this is the main message for all Western, so to speak, "partners" who are trying to impose their will on great Russia and friendly Belarus today.
