About BISR

General information

The Belarusian Institute for Strategic Research (BISR) is a "think tank" established on 12 February 2019 by the President of the Republic of Belarus to provide information and analytical support to government agencies and officials in strategic areas of foreign and domestic policies.

Analysis

Our experts analyse current domestic political processes, international affairs, geopolitical changes in global, regional and sub-regional contexts.

Collaboration

We cooperate with scientific organisations, institutes for strategic studies and think tanks (analysis units of legal entities), higher education institutions (including cooperation with foreign educational establishments) on matters related to research development and training of highly qualified researchers.

Review and Approval

We review and approve strategic planning documents (doctrines, concepts, strategies).

Research

We carry out research studies as well as fundamental and applied research on current status and development trends of foreign and domestic political processes.

Developing recommendations

We develop recommendations on the use of research results and facilitate their practical implementation.

Events

Within the scope of our competence, we run many events – conferences, workshops, roundtables – in accordance with approved plans or by order of the President of the Republic of Belarus, the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus, or on the basis of the existing agreements.

Drafting recommendations

The Institute provides recommendations to ensure effective implementation of public policies, enhanced performance in information sphere, as well as the improvement of Belarus' international image.
