Citizens are interested in a strong defender state but at the same time they are focused on participation, solidarity, and personal initiative. This was stated to BelTA by BISR Candidate of Sociological Sciences, Associate Professor Svetlana Aleinikova.
"The values of society are its mainstay, the basic foundation of development, the key mechanism in the transmission from generation to generation of common traditions, views, and ideals", Svetlana Aleinikova said.
"In his report at the VI All-Belarusian People's Assembly, the Head of State noted the monolithic nature of the republic. This is proved by the conducted sociological studies. Polls have shown that society remains united on most key values. Belarusians more that ever before have come to appreciate peace, security, justice and order in the country", the expert said.
As per research, Belarusians value health, family, peace of mind and comfort most of all. "Citizens are interested in a strong defender state, but at the same time they are focused on participation, solidarity, and personal initiative, which, in their opinion, are the main guarantee of well-being," Svetlana Aleinikova emphasized.
In her opinion, strengthening this consolidating and constructive foundation of the Belarusian society is the goal of joint large-scale work of the education system, culture, and information policy of the state. An important role belongs to sociological services measure the pulse of society, its current needs and demands.
"The accuracy of educational and cultural programs, along with ensuring information security, are the main components of the inviolability of the value foundation of our common home - the Republic of Belarus", the expert concluded.
