The Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research is looking forward to develop practical cooperation with "think tanks" of China. This was stated by BISR director Oleg Makarov at a meeting with the Chen Zhou, Deputy Head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, BelTA correspondent reports.
Oleg Makarov briefed the Chinese delegation members about activities of the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research. He noted that BISR maintains close relations with similar "think tanks" under the Communist Party of China and the State Council of the People's Republic of China.
Now, according to the BISR director, it is necessary to implement two strategic steps: to establish cooperation under the framework of regional cooperation and transfer cooperation from information exchange to a practical plane to solve state-important tasks.
"In the development of our relations with "think tanks", the stage of acquaintance, building trust, familiarization with each other's functionality has already been completed, and now we need to transfer to practical tasks that are important for the state. I think this will be useful and important for the cooperation of both states," Oleg Makarov said.
The promising areas of cooperation include the issues of technology transfer, state planning and forecasting, reforms in the public sector of the economy, improving the efficiency of enterprises, developing public-private partnerships, and party building.
