On May 12, an expert seminar "Belarus of the Future: the Potential of Universities and Youth" was held at Brest State Technical University under the leadership of the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Research headed by Director Oleg Makarov. The seminar was attended by analysts of the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research and representatives of universities of the Brest region.
In his introductory speech to the participants of the seminar, the BISR Director noted the importance of cooperation between the expert community and educational institutions in ensuring the stable development of the state, where the value of sociological research occupies a special place in shaping modern state policy and building prospects for the development of Belarusian society. One of the most significant proposals that was put up for discussion by Oleg Makarov, is the creation of an inter-university student association, which will include guys who are really involved in research and analytical activities, who want to try their hand in this direction, and in the future can continue their professional activities as an analyst at the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research. During the dialogue with the seminar participants, analysts of the Institute shared their proposals and best practices in the field of modern sociological research, and also presented individual results of sociological research in the context of the Brest region. Following the seminar outcomes, the prospects of joint scientific and educational cooperation of the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research and institutions of higher education of the Brest region were determined.
