On October 5, 2023, BISR analysts Eduard Severin and Sergey Zhuk (Brest Oblast Department) attended seminar "Ideological Work today: forms, methods and content of relevant aspects" for managers of Brestenergo enterprise. The event participants discussed the formation of the electoral culture of employees, the practice of using state symbols, techniques and methods of verifying fake information.
According to Eduard Severin, electoral culture is the result of systematic work on developing political consciousness of the population. A marker of the maturity of society, among other things, is conscious political participation in socio-political processes. The work implemented should be based on an understanding of the mutual responsibility of society and the state regarding the policy being pursued and the strategic tasks facing our society. At the present stage, electoral culture is becoming a necessary component of the electoral process, a tool for countering various kinds of manipulative technologies.
In turn, Sergey Zhuk noted, "Respect for state symbols cannot be ensured without successful operation of enterprises, improving the welfare of citizens, creating a favorable environment in the collective and creating opportunities to implement the potential of people. Our coat of arms, flag and anthem should be associated with success in the economy, politics, sports, and social sphere. It is equally important to know the historical forms of state symbols, which, of course, is a manifestation of a balanced attitude to the past of the Belarusian people. Reasonable and balanced use of state symbols plays a significant role in increasing the authority of the authorities."
