In addition to the fact that the parties in the Union State are developing a model of economic integration, modern circumstances dictate new, no less significant tasks. Today, we are not just developing economic models. We are developing models of political, cultural and humanitarian integration.
Belarus and the Russian Federation have managed to prove that these relations can be mutually beneficial, respectful, and we are guided by what is expedient for both sides. And now it's hard to say who needs whom more. We need the Russian Federation, and the Russian Federation also needs the Republic of Belarus. Moreover, this mutual demand, according to the expert, is not only in terms of economic cooperation.
Ideology is very important. Like-mindedness today is a very important component of future multipolarity. This issue is also being resolved within the framework of our association. Belarus and Russia have managed to implement the highest format of integration - alliance, which almost no one else in the post-Soviet space was able to do. And there are very few such examples in the world.
Of course, when it comes to integration and its effectiveness, everyone wants to have some evident results, confirmed by figures. But today the Union State faces a more important task. And these moments are even more important than economic cooperation. This is participation in the formation of the new world order that is currently being built, and it is important for Belarus to take its place in it, and “not come later and receive crumbs from someone’s table.”
Of course, it is crucial for the Union State to find its place in the system of international relations, to gain international subjectivity. This was reiterated by the presidents of Belarus and Russia.
