Andrey Chernobay, an analyst at the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research, commented on the situation in the run-up to the parliamentary election campaign.
The parliamentary election campaign will start in Belarus very soon. Expert forecasts regarding electoral activity, presence of the demand for redistribution of political power in the society, strengthening the media function of modern members of the parliament – these are the issues that the host of the Event Horizon program Vyacheslav Sharapov discussed with the guest of Sputnik Radio, an analyst at the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research, Andrey Chernobay.
"There was a time when the head of state took on too many responsibilities, but there was no other way at that time. We got used to this, but he needs to be relieved of this load, he has other functions. The problems and times are different. It is necessary to gradually transfer some of the functions to local authorities, the parliament and local councilors. It is quite possible that we will come to this", the expert believes.
