From November 18 to 24, Yuri Yarmolinsky, BISR analyst and head of the SCO and BRICS Research Center, is participating in the international forum "China in Sight Global Insight 2024" in Guiyang, Guizhou Province, at the invitation by International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (hereinafter referred to as the IDCPC).
The forum, whose theme is deepening reforms and openness for overall global development, will be attended by the IDCPC heads and experts from 24 countries around the world. The event is intended to present to the international community the innovative theory and practice of China's reform and openness achievements in the light of the decisions of the Third Plenum of the CPC Central Committee of the XX convocation on further comprehensive deepening of reforms to promote China's modernization in the interests of multilateral cooperation for global prosperity and development.
During his visit to China, Yuri Yarmolinsky will also take part in 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Think-Tank Forum), which will be held in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province.
The direct organizer of all events is the China Center for Contemporary World Studies under the IDCPC, a long-time partner of BISR.
The contacts between BISR and the IDCPC in the field of expert diplomacy are systematic. In 2023, BISR Deputy Director Vitaly Stakhovsky took part in the international forum 'Looking at modern China from abroad. Cooperation within Belt and Road Initiative, which took place in Beijing and Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. In November 2024, BISR Director Oleg Makarov participated in the establishment of the Global South Think-Tank Alliance under the auspices of the IDCPC, which took place in Nanjing, China.
Last year, at the initiative of the IDCPC, BISR became an official member of the Silk Road Think-Tank Association, and a Memorandum of Understanding was signed.
The dynamic interaction of BISR with leading Chinese think tanks contributes to the practical fulfillment of the all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership between the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China.
