The best practices of the Union State should be extended to the entire EAEU

The current 2025 will be a historic year for the entire Eurasian Economic Union and Belarus in particular.

Over the past three years, we have completed all those initiatives in the economy and the financial sector, especially within the framework of the Union State. Today, we need to enter a new platform for cooperation not only with the Russian Federation in a bilateral format, but also try to extend all best practices that we have developed in the Union State, to the Eurasian Economic Union. Moreover, the agenda has been harmonised between the EAEU, the Union State and global trends in general.

Starting from January 1, 2025, Belarus assumed the chairmanship of the bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union for the third time. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, as Chairman of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, has sent an address to the leaders of the EAEU countries outlining priorities for the coming year.

The Head of State listed nine directions. Key efforts will be focused on industrial cooperation, the development of a single transport space, digitalization and the external contour of the EAEU.
