Student League of Young Analysts Project started in Mogilev Its first organizational meeting was held on the first summer day in Mogilev Regional Scientific and Technical Library. The meeting was attended by aide to the President – Inspector for the Mogilev Oblast Leonid Martynyuk, Head of the Mogilev Oblast Department of the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research Oleg Koropov, Head of the Main Department for Ideological Work and Youth Affairs Ekaterina Muzychenko, Deputy Head of the Main Department for Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee Oleg Pischenko and Deputy Head of the Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs Mogilev City Executive Committee Irina Stolyarova, as well as the best students of Mogilev universities, leading analysts of the region.
As Oleg Koropov noted, the development of such a project as the "Student League of Young Analysts" in Mogilev is the need of time. "Today we see that the phrase known to everyone, "He who owns information, he owns the world" has been transformed into a new form: "He who manages information, he manages world processes", Oleg Koropov said. – And this is true. The process of brainwashing is underway: institutions are involved into the process, fake think tanks are being created. And it is very important for us to help young people sort out this turbulent flow of news, facts and trends, to teach them to think, and most importantly, to analyze what is happening around. It is no accident, therefore, that that the main goal of the project is to find talented young people capable of analytical activity, and in this regard, cooperation with universities is very important for us. Together with the students we will move step by step towards understanding analytical processes".
At the moment, the Project involves 15 students of Mogilev universities. These are young people who have already proved themselves in public and research activities, and who are interested in analytical work. The first meeting included acquaintance with the project participants and with the activities of the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research. Young people took part in an experimental opinion poll and together with analysts analyzed the outcomes, as well as familiarized themselves with the peculiarities of organizing work with young people in the region, outlined plans for the future.
As Oleg Koropov noted, such meetings in the region will be held on a regular basis as dialogues and discussion platforms. "It is important for us to talk to each other, hear and listen, and thereby help each other in forming opinions on various issues", Head of the regional BISR office said.
