August 20, Minsk /BelTA Reporter/. Director of the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research Oleg Makarov told what topics will be discussed during the Young Analyst Summer School which started on August 20, BelTA reports.
This nationwide experiment is the result of a whole year of work and interaction with young people of all universities in the country. It involved 35 teams. The project winners received a unique opportunity to participate in the summer school of analytics. We hope that they will acquire knowledge in analytics, document preparation, meet interesting people, visit the Hi-Tech Park, the Central Election Commission, meet with remarkable people and know how the work of the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research," Oleg Makarov said.
"We invited young people to make projects about the future of Belarus in completely different areas: medicine, education, IT, artificial intelligence. Analytics is an interdisciplinary field of activity that is not tied to economics or other fields, so any participant could choose a topic of interest. It was important for us to see how they work in a team, process information, how motivated they are and what they want," the BISR director added. According to him, 130 people participated in the project, and 25 reached the finals.
Education Minister Andrei Ivanets stressed that analytical projects developed by young people cannot leave anyone indifferent. "Regarding those projects that directly related to education, we tried to meet and discuss them. To do analytics, we must have a real understanding of what is happening in our country. I am convinced that for the development of projects it will be useful to communicate with relevant ministries representatives on the topic of your projects, because the issues you have raised are not only of concern to you, but to the state as well. These issues relate to the introduction of artificial intelligence, neural networks, digitalization," Andrei Ivanets noted. He added that it is important to discuss issues of an economic nature, as well as the national Belarusian field, including demographic security.
Ksenia Konstantinova, the project participant, a 3rd-year student of the Vitebsk State Technological University Faculty of Economics and Business Management, said that she came here to gain new experience from colleagues and complement the project dedicated to the possibility of introducing a digital rating in Belarus. "To figure out how possible it is to implement it in Belarus and how it affects security, we reviewed the Chinese experience of implementing such a rating, as well as various safety and happiness ratings. I think it is important to implement such projects, because you look at the situation differently and gain acquire new knowledge," Ksenia Konstantinova shared her opinion.
Vladislav Kozlovsky, the project participant, noted that this project was an excellent opportunity to apply his skills for the benefit of the country. "We will discuss the regional development of Belarus, the development of the education system, which is very important for young people and students, and the development of small towns, since today we have many representatives from rural areas of various regions of the country. It is very important for young people to find ways to unite in order to realize their abilities and realize their aspirations for the sake of a constructive future of the country," Vladislav Kozlovsky summed up.
