The importance of the youth analytical movement in Belarus can hardly be overestimated. Its development will be facilitated by a joint project of the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research, the Ministry of Education and the National Children's Technopark, which today brought together young analysts from all over the country.
The students are postgraduates and young scientists from higher education institutions, 25 people in total. At the Young Analyst Summer School opening ceremony, Oleg Makarov, Director of the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research, described what knowledge the students will receive:
- This is a nationwide experiment, the result of a whole year of work and interaction with young people of all universities in the country. The project winners received a unique opportunity to become participants of the Summer School. The students will find out what analytics is all about. They will meet interesting people, visit the Hi-Tech Park, the Central Election Commission and learn how the BISR works.
When selecting participants, the focus was not on specific fields, because analytics is about all spheres of life of society and the state, Oleg Makarov clarified:
- It was important for us how the students can organize a teamwork, how they process information and how motivated they are. We offered them to make projects about the future of Belarus in completely different spheres. Medicine, education, IT, artificial intelligence... Whatever they liked. Analytics is an interdisciplinary field of activity that is not tied to economics or other fields, so any participant could express themselves according to their profile.
The Young Analyst Summer School will work until August 24th. The students will meet experts, visit the Hi-Tech Park and the Central Election Commission, learn the BISR activities. This will give them a better understanding of how analytics works and set a direction for future projects that will be in demand in our country.
