On March 21, 2024, BISR hosted an expert seminar with the participation of leading Russian orientalists: Vladimir Avatkov, Head of the Department of the Near and Post-Soviet East of the Institute of Scientific Information for Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Science (INION RAS), Dmitry Egorchenkov, Director of the Institute for Strategic Studies and Forecasts of RUDN University, Aida Ermanalieva, senior laboratory assistant of the Department of the Near and Post-Soviet East of the INION RAS.
The situation in the CIS and the Middle East was discussed. The parties also considered cooperation between the expert community of Belarus and Russia.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
