The BISR delegation for the first time visited the Beijing Foreign Studies University, where an expert seminar "Humanitarian cooperation and Dialogue of Civilizations between China and Belarus" was held on July 16, 2025, during which the issues of the social image of China and Belarus, the development of youth analytical movements, prospects for joint scientific research and intercultural exchange were discussed.
The head of the delegation, Vitaly Punchenko, BISR Deputy Director, in a conversation with Vice-Rector for International Relations Zhao Gang, stressed the importance of expanding cooperation on promising topics of demographic policy, the institute of family and the future of youth.
In turn, Professor Zhao Gang informed about the university achievements in creating interdisciplinary programs and the experience of organizing the exchange of scientists and students with Belarus, noted the interest in conducting joint scientific research on international issues and social processes, and confirmed the intention to continue dialogue on topics of mutual interest.
Director of the Institute of the Russian Language, Professor Dai Guijiu noted the importance of creating new academic mobility programs, including through the exchange of researchers in the framework of joint internship programs.
Zhu Chuanhua, Director of the Center for Belarusian Studies at the Beijing Second Foreign Language Institute, spoke about the interest of Chinese students in expanding cultural ties, as well as studying the experience of organizing tourism and the historical heritage of the two countries.
BISR analyst Ekaterina Rechits presented the findings of BISR's research on the image of China in Belarusian society and noted that discussing the reserves of demographic, family and youth policy could become a growth point for further expert-analytical cooperation between Belarus and China.
