BISR Director Oleg Makarov spoke at the plenary session of the final event of the program of the Russian Agency for Strategic Initiatives "Open Industry", held in Omsk.
Oleg Makarov highly appreciated the successes of ASI partners in developing industrial tourism at the All-Russian level, and also noted the high potential of joint project work, creating new promising formats for deepening Belarus-Russia relations.
"BISR shares the profound importance of the field of industrial tourism for the development of industry, society and the state. It is important for Belarus and Russia to increase the volume of industrial tourism to demonstrate the potential of the Union State. Cooperative projects in industry are one of the key indicators of the success of union construction. Today, it is important to demonstrate systematically that the Union State is working – there are import substitution, jobs, and production chains.
The meeting of our presidents confirms the importance of industrial cooperation as a key achievement of integration, which must be promoted. But industrial cooperation is not the final step of integration. We expect strengthening country specialization. Belarus has significant opportunities to become, for example, an "assembly workshop" in integration."
The formula for the union's success was the interaction of Belarus with the regions of Russia. Holding of the competition final in Omsk is a landmark event, especially in light of the recent visit by the Governor of Belarus and the high-level discussion on the creation of a multi-brand center for Belarusian technology in Omsk.
In conclusion, Oleg Makarov noted that "industrial tourism is not about industry and not about tourism, it is about the patriotism of Belarusian-Russian integration. This area of tourism should be focused on the patriotic education of young people. Demonstrating the achievements of industry will help young people feel and believe that they are capable of great achievements, just like previous generations. Industry is a calling card and an object of national pride of Belarus, an important element of the history and future of our state, one of the pillars of ideology."
