Our elections, as a rule, are an attempt to harmonize society, to combine all approaches and all positions.
We are all witnesses of the peaceful elections that ended in Belarus the day before. And if we assume that the "social contract" is concluded during the election period, when citizens establish their relations with society and the state for the next five years, then from this viewpoint, the "social contract" in our country was concluded earlier, began to be implemented earlier, and is now moving and progressing. Citizens vote for what they have, so the elections are held calmly.
Analysts expected a greater reaction and activity from the West to the presidential elections in Belarus. But there was no reaction, because no one is interested in a stable system. We all know that predators rush to the bloodн trail, but if there is none, they go looking for another victim. There is another hypothesis in this regard. The value of the future that is offered during the elections outweighs the vacillation that may occur in society during the electoral period. If the future is formulated correctly and clearly, which coincides with the demands of society, this will stabilize the elections.
Today, elections are not only legitimizing the course of a particular leader, the winner of the elections, but also solving many tasks at the same time. This includes the task of involving society in state affairs.
Our Belarusian experience is that we prefer to live in a conflict-free environment. We are a slavic state characterized by a consensus society. In this regard, our elections are not a battle of concepts. Our elections, as a rule, are an attempt to harmonize society, to combine all approaches and all positions. If you pay attention to the President's election program, it was quite extensive, and it had a unifying rather than a divisive agenda.
