On May 15, 2023, BISR analyst Yuri Yarmolinsky, at the invitation of the leadership of the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI), took part (online) in a public discussion on the results of the 42nd ASEAN Summit held on May 9-11 this year in the Indonesian city of Labuan Bajo.
In the discussion moderated by the FPCI founder and head Dino Patti Djalal, the speakers were Derry Aman, Permanent Representative of Indonesia to ASEAN, Nur Izza Wong Mee Choo, Permanent Representative of Malaysia to ASEAN, Urawadee Sriphiromya, Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, and Rizal Sukma, Senior Researcher at the Center for Strategic and International Studies of Indonesia.
The meeting participants discussed the key successes of Indonesia's chairmanship in ASEAN through the prism of the remaining “homework”, as well as achievements in solving major regional problems while maintaining its central role in the context of geopolitical tensions and growing threats to regional stability and security.
