Meetings with experts on the sidelines of the Raisina Dialogue Forum

In the course of the international conference in New Delhi, apart from program events, "on the go" meetings of BISR analyst Yuri Yarmolinsky with representatives of partner organizations are continuing.

Ксения ШевцоваThere was an exchange of opinions with participants from the Russian Higher School of Economics, Ksenia Shevtsova (Head, Department of International Cooperation, HSE National Research University) and Valeria Gorbacheva (Head, Department for the Development of Multilateral Strategic Projects) on the procedure and conditions for BISR joining the expert academic track of the BRICS within the framework of the Russian presidency. The readiness of the Russian side to invite BISR to participate in this format of expert diplomacy was confirmed, in particular, at the meeting of the BRICS Academic Forum to be held on 22-24 May 2024 in Moscow.

Глэдден ПаппинThe expert dialogue with Gladden Pappin, President of the Hungarian Institute of International Relations, raised issues of developing mutual contacts, taking into account arrangements reached during last year BISR international scientific and practical conference "Strategic Analysis and Forecasting. Belarus in the global world", as well as through other contacts with Hungarian experts.

Суджан ЧинойOn the sidelines of the conference, the BISR representative also had a short conversation with the honorary researcher of the Observer Research Foundation, Dr. Nandan Unnikrishnan. The Indian colleague and ORF President Samir Saran (curator of Raisina Dialogue) received an official invitation from BISR director Oleg Makarov to visit Minsk, as well as specific proposals for the implementation of joint projects through expert diplomacy.

Эбтесам аль-ТенейджиYuri Yarmolinsky and Dr. Sujan Chinoy, Director General of the Indian Institute for Defense Studies and Analyses discussed ways to implement the cooperation agreements reached during Dr. Sujan Chinoy’s visit to Minsk in 2019, but which were on pause due to the pandemic.

Prospects for cooperation, taking into account previously reached agreements, were discussed with Dr. Ebtesam Alteneiji, Director of Strategic Engagement and Publications at the Emirati Center for Strategic Studies.

0Yuri Yarmolinsky also met with Mikhail Kasko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to India, during which the directions of expert and analytical support for Belarusian-Indian bilateral relations through the tools of expert diplomacy were outlined.
