The expert discussion brought together the representatives of the State Secretariat of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus, the Security Council of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, the Standing Committee of the Union State, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Belarus, Belarusian and Russian scientists, analysts and experts.
As the conference participants noted, the Concept preserves the continuity of all strategic documents adopted earlier in our countries, as well as within the framework of the Union State.
The principles and mechanisms of ensuring the Union State security have been established.
The synergy of efforts of economists, sociologists and analysts has allowed conceptually changing approaches to the Concept of Union State security.
The document has been thoroughly tested among the public, and the suggestions of experts and the wishes of citizens expressed on dialogue platforms have been taken into account as much as possible.
It was extremely important for the developers to adapt the Concept to the current conditions so that it would work, contain understandable, predictable approaches for external and internal audiences, i.e. not only within the Union State, but also beyond its borders.
The Concept is not only a guide for action to provide security in key areas of life. This is an important demonstration step, reflecting the unity of our standpoints, aimed at safe development in the context of geopolitical transformation.
