Belarus – Ukraine: good-neighborliness or confrontation?

On July 28, 2021, leaders and analysts of the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research held a round table with Ukrainian think tanks experts in the form of a video-conference.

In the course of the event, the sides discussed the current status of relations between Minsk and Kiev, the search for possible ways to normalize the dialogue and regional security issues through the prism of Belarusian-Ukrainian interaction.

The participants reached consensus that to revitalize and develop good-neighborly relations between our states is very critical for both sides.

Despite complexities of the current period, Belarus and Ukraine retain opportunities for restoring the dialogue, channeling it into constructive, mutually beneficial direction, which undoubtedly is beneficial to the citizens of both countries who are already burdened with socio-economic consequences of the pandemic and other crises.

Particularly vital in that connection is the expert dialogue aimed at overcoming existing differences, discussing emerging problems and finding possible solutions.
