On February 14, Director of the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research Oleg Makarov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to the Republic of Belarus Alex Goldman-Shaiman as part of the developing expert dialogue with the "far arc" states.
The head of the Israeli diplomatic mission was familiarized with the main activities and tasks performed by the BISR. The outcomes of the project "Value Portrait of modern Belarusian society" were also presented to the attention of the Israely Ambassador.
The sides shared their views on the current state and prospects for the development of Belarus-Israel relations, including through expert diplomacy. The issues concerning the preparation for the republican referendum on amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, were mentioned separately.
Additionally, the meeting participants exchanged views on the specifics and features of the activities of the world's think tanks factories in modern conditions, agreeing with the objectively urgent need to improve approaches to strategic forecasting.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue cooperation between the BISR and the Israeli diplomatic mission on mutual interest issues.
