BISR is continuing the cycle of presentations dedicated to the findings of the study "Values of the Modern Belarusian Society".
On April 22, BISR analyst Svetlana Alejnikova made a presentation to the officials of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Belarus.
The key subjects were:
- combination of collective and individual values;
- shifting the interests of society from material goods to the higher priorities: ownership, self-realization, striving for new social standards, quality of life;
- sound perception by citizens of the historical past of the country through the prism of Victory in the Great Patriotic War;
- an expressed request of young people for initiative and self-realization.
At the same time, the growth of external information influence, whose goals are distortion and politicization of history, imposing alien concepts, tendency for subverting by certain information resources of the people's confidence in main social institutions, society division nased on "friend/foe" principle, is becoming more and more apparent. The main targets in this aspect are the highest order needs: ownership, recognition, self-realization, and the main tools are playing on people's feelings and emotions, formation of value judgments that give the key to the mind control and behavior of mainly young.
BISR held similar presentations in the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian State University, the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus.
