On November 20, 2023, BISR hosted an expert seminar "Belarus – Kazakhstan: the state of bilateral relations and prospects for interstate cooperation".
The event was attended by the BISR managers and analysts, from the Kazakh side – the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Belarus Yerlan Baizhanov.
In the course of the meeting, the participants discussed issues of further strengthening of the Belarusian-Kazakh strategic multifaceted partnership. The BISR Director Oleg Makarov noted that in the public opinion of Belarusians Kazakhstan remains one of the most important directions of the country's foreign policy.
The experts paid special attention to the field of expert diplomacy. The sides came to a common understanding of the importance to increase the forecasting and analytical potential of Belarus and Kazakhstan, outlined point of contact on relevant issues and areas of joint activity.
An agreement was reached to continue the practice of joint events, taking into account the positive experience of discussing socio-economic and political transformations, prospects for further strengthening contacts between the countries.
