On September 9, 2022, the BISR department for Grodno Region held a round table on improving the content and organizing admission campaign to universities and final certification in secondary education institutions.
The main topic of experts' discussion were measures to improve the quality and accessibility of education, proposals for updating the curricula content, scientific and methodological base in order to improve the level of national education.
"We are preparing for a centralized examination based on the results of secondary school graduation. At two recent meetings in Minsk, the need was voiced to implement a large scope of work in the professional community of teachers to develop final approaches to the entrance campaign to educational institutions. We need to listen to practical teachers in order to develop optimal approaches and answer questions about how to consider an applicant, his personality, his ability to talk, to reason, how well he really knows the subject, not just ready to work with the test format," Ruslan Abramchik, head of the Main Department of Education of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, said.
Summing up the results of the work, the head of the BISR department for Grodno region, Vladimir Zalomai, stressed that during the productive work, the round table participants considered a number of issues that may arise when improving the content and organization of the entrance campaign to universities and final certification in secondary education institutions. In particular, the relevant issues on providing characteristics to students for admission, homeschooling, exemption from exams for health reasons.
