The information war, which is, in fact, going on everywhere today, is an area of work where it is necessary to respond objectively, honestly, principally and, most importantly, quickly. This is how the Belarusian leadership and the media are trying to work, so today the situation in Belarus is controlled and manageable. Secretary of State of the Security Council of Belarus Aliaksandr Valfovich said this, answering a question from a journalist from sb.by, today, February 26, before the start of a working meeting with the administration of the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Research.

“Today the situation is controlled and manageable in all areas of national security, it is all under control. As for the information agenda, what we see and hear today, it is clear that there are forces that are trying to shake up the situation. After all, the West has not abandoned its main task — to destabilise the situation, overthrow an unwelcome political regime and install a puppet, regulated regime. What we see today in Poland, in the Baltic states, where all governments, with a snap of the fingers of the United States, with a snap of the fingers of other Western powers, such as Great Britain, fulfil all their whims — not for the benefit of their people, not for the benefit of their states. They spend huge amounts of money on military budgets, and not on any civilian infrastructure, not on the development of the national economy, socio-economic projects. Military rhetoric is heard everywhere: in Poland, in the Baltic states, and in all European countries, while the most powerful civilian concerns are being closed,” the Secretary of State of the Security Council highlighted.

Therefore, they are also trying to shake up Belarus, Aliaksandr Valfovich repeated.
“But how do our media work today, how objectively, quickly and promptly does the information agenda work, how does the country’s leadership react, not to mention the President, who reacts 24/7 to all fake news! Of course, overloading the President with various trivial issues is extremely wrong. The President has strategic tasks, a strategic vision, but nevertheless, the Head of State reacts to everything. And since the country’s leadership reacts quickly and resolves all emerging issues, citizens understand that everything in the country is done for the people and for the benefit of the development of the state. And normal citizens understand all this.
The Secretary of State of the Security Council cited as an example the self-organisation of citizens to clear snow; the recent lightning-fast work of law enforcement agencies to neutralise criminals in the Smaliavichy region; cleanliness, order and safety day and night in all cities and regions of Belarus. The speaker is confident that the same order should persist in terms of information hygiene as well.
“The President is right in what he says: it is necessary to read government publications and websites that objectively give the real picture and not believe everything that is written on the Internet. Our media are reacting today; the country’s leadership is reacting (to information challenges and fake news. — Author’s note). The information war, which is, in fact, going on everywhere today, is, of course, an area of work where it is necessary to respond objectively, honestly, principally and, most importantly, quickly. This is how we are trying to work.”
