"The teacher needs to be closer to the students"
People's Teacher of Belarus V.V. Barashkov
The Belarusian Institute for Strategic Research hosted an expert round table on a number of significant issues in the development of education in the Republic of Belarus.
The event provided an opportunity to hear the opinion of teachers on such important issues as the status and authority of teachers in the eyes of society, management in the education system, quality and content of education.
Experts and analysts of BISR agreed that implementation of changes in the education system requires a balanced and responsible approach, as the results will inevitably affect the life paths of future generations of the country's citizens.
Professionals have concluded that it is necessary to use the achievements of modern human sciences to adapt the educational process to the modern information environment. This will allow young people to navigate the information flows of the modern world more responsibly and critically.
When developing strategies and guidelines for the national education development, it is necessary to take into account the dynamics of relations within the "teacher - parent - student" triad. The public demand for high quality education must be balanced by respect for the teachers and their role in the society, which is not limited to knowledge sharing, but also implies direct involvement in the education of growing-up individuals.
