Director of the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research Oleg Makarov attended the IX Moscow Conference on International Security (MCIS) held on June 22-24 in Moscow.
Within MCIS framework, the BISR Head made a report "Sovereignty and national security in the cyber-information confrontation environment".
Oleg Makarov mentioned the trends in the field of information that contain risks to national security, including the conflict polarization of public consciousness, reducing threshold for critical perception of information, aggravation of cybersecurity issues within global contradictions. As an example of a successful response to current challenges, references were made to the main provisions of the Information Security Concept of the Republic of Belarus.
"We consistently advocate demilitarizing the issue of information security", the Director noted. The key challenge of international information security is the lack of a single international legal regime regulating the ICT space.
The attention of the conference participants was drawn to the prospects of elaborating documents in the Union State information security domain.
