On March 30, 2021, with the support and close cooperation with the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Researches, the Belarusian State University (BSU) hosted the opening of the Student Analytical Club, whose idea had been proposed by BISR to the BSU Administration about six months ago.
In his opening speech, Oleg Makarov noted that analytical activity is of demand in almost all areas and requires scientific and practical approach; he also outlined the main directions, prospects and "pitfalls" of the analytical activity. Next, the meeting took the form of a dialogue-answers to questions of future analysts – Student Analytical Club members, and representatives of the BSU student organizations. The students of the university were interested in the areas of the BISR activity and opportunities for studying analytics, prospects for developing the analytical activities market in Belarus, details of information collection and processing, preparing analytical documents, etc.
BISR analysts Svetlana Aleinikova and Ekaterina Rezanova provided the meeting participants with findings of the study on current values of the today's Belarusian society conducted by BISR. It is based on the balance of the two groups of values: collective and personal, involving, first, the concepts of sovereignty and strong social partner state and, second, health, family, mental comfort and wellbeing.
The Belarusian Institute of Strategic Researches will further provide expert advisory support to the Clu.
