An expert seminar "The trade industry in Belarus: an inside look" was held in BISR with the participation of the management of Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus and representatives of retail chains. Experts told about peculiarities of the work of retail chains and areas of their development in the new economic conditions. The issues of social well-being of employees were also mentioned.
It was noted during the discussion that sales workers feel quite confident in the labor market, which is manifested in their positive social well-being. They are generally satisfied with the working conditions, the moral and psychological climate in the team, etc. The main request of employees of retail chains is to increase wages, including through introducing incentive mechanisms and flexible work schedules. Among the troubling problems are the shortage of personnel and the associated processing, the insufficiently high level of automation of the main processes of your organization or outlet. This professional group considers the improvement of its competitiveness to be promising areas of development – professional growth, expansion of its competencies, training, opening of new spheres and branches of trade.
