On November 28, the Expert Workshop "Economy of Belarus: from the Present to the Future" was held, which became a new analytical platform of the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Research for a lively discussion between the representatives of the authorities, science and business on the key issues of the state economic policy. The deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus expressed their position on the existing legal framework for economic development and effective administration of the law.
The participants of the workshop discussed measures to meet the balance between the security of the economic interests of the country and the development of the private initiative. The attention was drawn to the economic situation in the regions taking into account the migration processes that weaken the social infrastructure, the work of the social standards, staffing.
The BISR analysts and invited experts discussed the conditions for the development of small and medium enterprises, access to resources, accumulation of private capital, digitalization, implementation of national scientific developments and the acquisition of foreign technologies, employment of the population and outflow of personnel, organization and financing of scientific support for state programs of socio-economic development, etc. A dilemma of the combination of socially oriented state and social stratification was indicated as a separate problem.
The participants of the Expert Workshop came to the conclusion on the need to establish high-tech communication channels between the administrative, industrial and scientific spheres and to improve the role of research in the sphere of the human psyche and will against this background.
