Within the framework of international cooperation on September 2, the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Research continued the series of round tables in the video conference format under the common title "Prospects of social and economic and social political development of the Republic of Belarus: the international dimension".
The event was attended by the Director and analysts of BISR and the foreign experts: Ian Campbell, honorary professor, foreign member of the Natural Sciences Academy, Chairman of the Academic Council of the Institute of the Left (Czech Republic); Stevan Gayich, scientific researcher at the Institute for European Studies (Serbia); Kirill Benediktov, political analyst, writer, chief editor of «Fitzroy Magazine» (Russia); Seymour Mamedov, Director of the International Expert Club "Eurasia-Azerbaijan" (Azerbaijan).
The parties exchanged views on current challenges and threats to the sovereignty and independence of Belarus in the face of the deteriorating international situation in the region and the increase of the protest activity in the country in the post-election period.
Particular attention was paid to foreign expert forecasts of the possible impact of the current events in Belarus on the regional security, prospects of development of relations between Belarus and the EU, China, Russia, Serbia and Azerbaijan.
The video conference was held in a constructive atmosphere of trust, the common leitmotif of the discussion was almost practically unanimous expression of words of support for the Republic of Belarus and its people in the post-election turbulence by the foreign partners.
