On December 17, BISR analysts attended the international scientific conference "The Modern World and National Interests of the Republic of Belarus", organized at BSU by the State Secretariat of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus.
The opening of the forum was attended by Rector of the Belarusian State University Andrey Korol, Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Rudy, Deputy Secretary of State of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Rakhmanov.
After the plenary session, the conference was organized in the format of three thematic sections and two round tables, including:
Section 1. Foreign experience and methodology of building the architecture of national interests and national security systems, preparation of doctrinal documents of strategic planning.
Section 2. The national interests of the Republic of Belarus at the present stage and in the context of conflicting geopolitical processes.
Section 3. Assessing the compliance (implementation) of national interests and the national security status in various areas of life of society and the state.
Round table "Potential or actual external and internal risks, challenges and threats to national security and their sources. Directions of neutralization".
Round table "Biological security as part of the national security of the state".
During the conference BISR analysts made the following reports (presentations):
"Methodological support for developing strategic planning documents" (Olga Lazorkina);
"Foreign approaches to the "national interests" concept in the context of modern international processes" (Anton Dudarenok);
"Turn to Asia" as a national interest in the context of modern geopolitical turbulence" (Yuri Yarmolinsky);
"Modern media as a source of threats to national security: informational and psychological aspects" (Olga Bogomaz).
In total, the event was attended by more than 100 representatives of state bodies and organizations, leading universities from Minsk and the regions, as well as foreign experts.
