BISR analyst Sergey Zhuk (Brest Oblast Department) attended the 2nd International Scientific Conference "Agriculture of Belarus through the prism of Scientific Research", organized by the I.S. Lupinovich Belarusian Agricultural Library, the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Scientific Council for Book Culture, Book Publishing and Libraries of the International Association of Academies of Sciences.
AS part of the scientific event, the issues of the agrarian history of Belarus, the formation and development of agricultural knowledge in the past, the introduction of scientific achievements into practice, the current state of agricultural science, as well as the preservation and disclosure of agricultural scientific information in library practice were considered.
In his report, Sergey Zhuk focused on the development of the organizational structure of agricultural sciences in the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR in the second half of the 1940s. Special attention was paid to the role of this research area in the restoration and development of the Academy of Sciences, the analysis of measures to strengthen the scientific and research support of the functioning of the economic complex of the republic. In addition, the role of individual scientists in the formation of scientific centers is shown: M.E. Matsepuro – in the creation of the Institute of Agricultural Mechanization, V.I. Perekhod – in organizing the Forestery Institute.
